Every moment can hold up to three tags, from any life areas, or none at all. Wonaby comes with eight life areas: Body, Mind, Work, Relationships, Food, Home, Money and Free time, with tags like Sleep, Reading, Kids, Partner and Travel inside them, so there's nothing to set up on day one. Choosing tags is the last step of writing a moment, one tap per tag. With Pro you can add tags of your own, with your own names, then rename, move or remove any of them whenever you like.

Any tag can be hidden instead. A hidden tag keeps every moment that already holds it; it just stops being offered when you write something new, and showing it again is one tap. Remove a tag of your own and your journal doesn't change behind you: every moment that already holds it keeps it, exactly as you wrote it, because tidying your labels today can't rewrite what you logged last month. Removing is the one thing here you can't take back, so it asks first.

A change of plan works the same way. If Pro ends, past moments keep their tags and every built-in tag stays free. Your own tags are switched off, never deleted, and Wonaby tells you so. Nothing you hid gets shown again for you.

Tap the mic inside a moment or in your Ask Wonaby chat, say what happened, and the text lands all at once, ready to keep or edit. Nothing is ever sent for you: in the chat, the transcript sits in your message until you choose to send it.

Speaking a moment is free on every plan. What Pro changes is where the listening happens. On the free plan Wonaby uses your phone's own built-in dictation, the same one your keyboard's mic uses. It works offline when your phone has a speech model installed, reaches for the network when it doesn't, and the audio travels the way that service sends it. With Pro you download a voice model in Settings and your speech becomes text on the device in your hand: more accurate, no connection needed, and the audio never leaves. Wonaby offers two model sizes and marks the one that fits your phone. The only thing that needs a connection is the one-time download, and Wonaby checks with you before using mobile data for it. A toggle switches back to your phone's own dictation any time.

One reminder a day, at a time you pick, on the days you pick, in one of four message styles: Direct, Calm, Warm or Quick. Wonaby asks for notification permission when you turn reminders on, not on the way in, and if you decline, reminders never ask again on their own. If your phone is blocking notifications, reminder settings say so plainly and take you to the setting that turns them back on.

Tap a reminder and it opens Wonaby's note on that day, and it means that day: open an evening reminder after midnight, or days later from your notification list, and it still lands on the day it was about. If the day is empty, the tap simply drops you at home. Reminders are scheduled and delivered on your phone, so they work offline and no server pings you. The time and days you set live with your account, so each of your devices reminds you the same way. One switch turns them off.

The last twelve months and the current one in one smooth scroll, with the year label on months from earlier years so moving back stays easy to follow. A small dot marks each day you saved something on, today included; days with nothing recorded carry no marker. Every date sits in the same round sticker, and today is the one filled in soft periwinkle. A floating label always tells you which month you're looking at, and a one-tap Today button brings you back to now. The calendar never changes anything; it helps you find the moments you already recorded, and it works with no signal.

Set a PIN, and add the fingerprint your phone already knows if you like. Wonaby asks for one of them before it opens. It locks again after the app has been in the background for more than a minute, and setting the phone's clock back doesn't skip it. A PIN always stays set as the fallback, so biometrics build on it rather than replacing it, and you're never locked out of your own journal. Repeated wrong PINs trigger a cooldown before the next try, and if the guessing keeps going, Wonaby signs out entirely. Your lock settings survive a normal sign-out, and with a lock on, Wonaby keeps you signed in when there's no connection.

Two honest boundaries. App lock is a gate on the app, not a replacement for your phone's own lock screen, so set a device passcode too. And it isn't what keeps your words secret: your journal is end-to-end encrypted whether or not app lock is on.

Export everything you've written, photos included, into one file you keep: readable text, a data file, or both. It's on every plan, free included, and Wonaby deletes its copy the moment you've saved it. The file is plain and unencrypted by design, so it opens anywhere; app lock guards Wonaby, not the file you carried out of it, so keep it somewhere you trust. After sign-in Wonaby asks on a screen of its own, and once more six months after a no; nothing is sent before you tap "Share usage data". What you share is linked to your account: which features you use, crash reports and your setup answers, never what you write. The analytics tool stores nothing on your phone. Switching it off in Privacy & data stops it on all your phones and deletes your past usage data. Separately, our analytics provider receives every account's plan details, such as a free trial starting, a subscription renewing or a cancellation, so we can count how many people subscribe and how many leave.
