and what each plan gets.

Wonaby ships with six ready-made categories and their tags, so you can tag a moment on day one without setting anything up. When the defaults don't match how you think, make your own: a category with a name and a colour, then tags with their own icons. It's a two-level system, broad categories on top and specific tags underneath, and you can rename, recolour, re-icon or remove anything.

Any category or tag can be switched off instead of deleted. An off category keeps its name, its colour and every moment already tagged with it; it just stops being offered when you tag something new, and switching it back on is one tap. Remove one for good and your journal doesn't change behind you: every moment already tagged with it keeps that tag exactly as you wrote it, because tidying your labels today can't rewrite what you logged last month. Removing is the one thing here you can't take back, so it asks first.

A change of plan works the same way. If Pro ends, moments tagged with a category that's no longer included keep their tag and colour, and if you have more custom categories or tags than the plan allows, Wonaby switches off the least-used extras, never deletes them, and tells you so.

Tap the mic inside a moment or in your Ask Wonaby chat, say what happened, and the text lands all at once, ready to keep or edit. Nothing is ever sent for you: in the chat, the transcript sits in your message until you choose to send it.

Speaking a moment is free on every plan. What Pro changes is where the listening happens. On the free plan Wonaby uses your phone's own built-in dictation, the same one your keyboard's mic uses: it works offline when your phone has a speech model installed, reaches for the network when it doesn't, and the audio travels the way that service sends it. With Pro you download a voice model in Settings and your speech becomes text on the device in your hand: more accurate, no connection needed, and the audio never leaves. Wonaby offers two model sizes and marks the one that fits your phone. The only thing that needs a connection is the one-time download, and Wonaby checks with you before using mobile data for it. A toggle switches back to your phone's own dictation any time.

One reminder a day, at a time you pick, on the days you pick, in one of four message styles: Direct, Calm, Warm or Quick. Wonaby asks for notification permission when you set the reminder, not on the way in, and if you decline it doesn't ask again on its own. If your phone is blocking notifications, reminder settings say so plainly and take you to the setting that turns them back on.

Tap a reminder and it opens Wonaby's note on that day, and it means that day: open an evening reminder after midnight, or days later from your notification list, and it still lands on the day it was about. If the day is empty, the tap simply drops you at home. Reminders are scheduled and delivered on your phone, so they work offline and no server pings you. The time and days you set live with your account, so each of your devices reminds you the same way. One switch turns them off.

The last twelve months and the current one in one smooth scroll, with the year label on months from earlier years so moving back stays easy to follow. A small dot marks each past day you saved something on; days with nothing recorded carry no marker, and today gets its dot once the day is over. Today is picked out by a thin ring and the day you're viewing fills in. A floating label always tells you which month you're looking at, and a one-tap Today button brings you back to now. The calendar never changes anything; it helps you find the moments you already recorded, and it works with no signal.

Set a PIN, or use the biometrics your phone already has (fingerprint on Android, Face ID or Touch ID on iPhone), and Wonaby asks for it before it opens. It locks again after the app has been in the background for more than a minute. A PIN always stays set as the fallback, so biometrics build on it rather than replacing it, and you're never locked out of your own journal. Repeated wrong PINs trigger a cooldown before the next try, and if the guessing keeps going, Wonaby signs out entirely. Your lock settings survive a normal sign-out, and with a lock on, Wonaby keeps you signed in when there's no connection.

Two honest boundaries. App lock is a gate on the app, not a replacement for your phone's own lock screen, so set a device passcode too. And it isn't what keeps your words secret: your journal is end-to-end encrypted whether or not app lock is on.

Export everything you've written, photos included, into one file you keep: readable text, a data file, or both. It's on every plan, free included, and Wonaby deletes its copy the moment you've saved it. The file is plain and unencrypted by design, so it opens anywhere; app lock guards Wonaby, not the file you carried out of it, so keep it somewhere you trust. Sharing usage and crash reports is strictly opt-in. Nothing is set up, no identifier is stored and no request is sent until you switch it on in Privacy & data settings; switching it off stops it and clears its identifiers from your device.
