We built the app
we kept looking for.
The days blur together. You're busy, moving from one thing to the next, and by Friday you can't really remember what happened. It's nothing dramatic, just the ordinary, quiet way life slips past while you're living it. The good days and the hard ones, the moments that mattered and the ones that didn't, all of it fades. You just can't see it anymore.
What we actually needed turned out to be pretty simple. Not another productivity system, and definitely not another habit tracker. Just a place to go back and see those moments clearly, to understand what they meant, to notice your own life without a judgment or a score attached to it. That was the whole wish.
Who we are
We're Alex and Eva, a couple and partners in both work and life, and both of us are engineers. We actually hit this wall separately before we realized we were dealing with the same thing. Eva's weeks kept disappearing into the blur, and by Friday she couldn't tell you what had actually happened. Alex felt it even more sharply. He has ADHD, and the apps that were supposed to help, the ones with streaks and reminders and gentle little nudges, mostly just ended up feeling like judgment. One missed day would reset the streak, and just like that he'd stop trying altogether.
We've built apps long enough to know how they really work. We've watched data quietly get collected, urgency get manufactured, and companies bury the little mechanics that keep you hooked. Dark patterns have gotten so common that most people don't even notice them anymore. We wanted to make something genuinely different: something that doesn't trick you into using it, and that actually respects you.
What we believe
We've looked hard at the apps out there, and what strikes us is how many of them optimize for the exact same things: keeping you on a streak, sending notifications that nudge you with guilt, turning your life into a number. We decided to go the other way entirely.

Subscription-funded, no ads, no data sales
We fund Wonaby through subscriptions, which means our success depends on you actually finding it useful. There's no investor pushing us to grow at all costs, no ad network we're quietly optimizing for, and no business case anywhere for selling your data or your attention. When the app is genuinely good for you, it's good for us. That's the whole arrangement.
Built by Alevit
Wonaby is part of Alevit, the small software company we built to make things we actually want to use ourselves. We're not a venture-backed startup racing toward an exit, and we're not on anyone else's timeline. We're building for the long haul, because this is the company we want to be running for years.
Designed for longevity
Everything we build is designed to last, and that goes for both the technical decisions we make and the way we treat your data. What you write belongs to you, not to us. You can export it whenever you want, delete it whenever you want, and always understand exactly what we do with it. We've even written our privacy policy in plain language instead of the usual legalese, because there shouldn't be any tricks or loopholes hiding in there. Just respect.
If you're someone who cares about privacy, who's tired of apps that make you feel judged, who just wants a quiet place to notice yourself without pressure, we'd genuinely love to have you with us. Join the waitlist and be among the first to see what we're building.
